Cork Expansion Joint

Standard Cork

Standard Cork expansion joint material is produced from clean, selected granulated cork that is bonded together securely with an insoluble resin. Standard Cork is suggested for use where it is essential that the joints be kept sealed at all times such as in waste water treatment plants, flood walls, spillways, filtration plants, and numerous other commercial and industrial applications.

Standard Cork meets the following specifications:

  • ASTM D-1752, Type II
  • Fed. Spec. HH-F-341-F, Type II
  • AASHTO M 153, Type II
  • Corps of Engineers Spec. CRD-C-509, Type II
  • FFA P610-2.7
  • ANSI A 37.114, Type II
Did you know that cork is harvested from the renewable bark of the cork oak tree and is a completely natural product?
The trees are NOT damaged or felled during the harvest-- this 100% naturally-renewable product meets the requirements to protect and conserve the environment! Go Green!

Self Expanding Cork

Self Expanding Cork Type III fillers are an exclusive formulation, produced from clean select granulated cork particles bonded together securely with a synthetic resin. Self Expanding Cork expands upon exposure to moisture and weather to develop an interference pressure seal within the concrete joint. Self Expanding Cork Type III fillers are suitable for filling expansion joints in areas such as irrigation canals, culverts, dams, reservoirs, sea walls, waste water treatment plants, flood walls, spillways, filtration plants, bridges, swimming pools, subways, and more. Self Expanding Cork Type III fillers are compatible with most hot-pour and cold applied joint sealants.
Self Expanding Type III fillers are highly resilient. They can be compressed down to 50% of their original thickness and they recover up to a minimum of 90%. In addition, due to their excellent flexibility, Self Expanding Cork Type III fillers are capable of withstanding continuous strain without deteriorating-- regardless of climatic conditions.
